Knauf is a family company founded in 1932 by the brothers Karl and Dr. Alfons N. Knauf. Today, their sons steer the success of the corporation's many building materials enterprises in close coordination with the family. From its beginnings in gypsum processing over in Germany, Knauf has expanded and diversified. It is now a multinational corporation delivering a wide variety of insulation materials and many other building products.
Knauf Insulation North America represents one of the most respected and progressive names in insulation worldwide. Though operations first began throughout Europe, Knauf Insulation manufacturing started here in the United States in 1978.
